What are the main alternatives to Revit, in terms of a BIM platform?

i would guess the other main contender is ArchiCAD
Plowman Craven aim to be at the forefront of technology, especially within the BIM environment.

Isn't VectorWorks another BIM based software? Having said that, I know nothing about it. http://www.axonware.ie/VectorWorks2012.pdf

I have heard of VectorWorks but have never personally used it. It looks pretty interesting from the PDF brochure. May see if I can get a demo / trial copy and have a play :P

Bentley Architecture

....a huge improvement on MicroStation by all accounts :lol:

We're more than happy with Revit but it's always good to know what alternatives you have- same as anything in life.
